Disneyland Ambassador (1975 / 1976)

Blue-ink lithography on paper, two (2) 4-page applications, one (1) single-sided flyer, 11" x 8.5"

Unused 4-page illustrated applications for the position of Disneyland Ambassador for the years 1975 and 1976 when Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom were marking the American Bicentennial with the spectacular "America on Parade." Each invites young women "among the permanent and part-time employees" of Disneyland to apply for the position. For 1976 Seasonal employees were also eligible. To qualify an applicant had to be an employee; 18 years or older; single and agree to remain so for a period of one year; and agree to serve, if selected, as "Disneyland Ambassador" for a period of one year.

Each includes a message from the current Ambassador—Carol DeKeyser in 1975 and Kathy Smith in 1976—and they are seen in their roles in pictures inside. The application states that "the Ambassador becomes an official spokeswoman for the entire Disney organization and represents Disneyland while hostessing VIP's, participating in celebrations and special events, and traveling throughout the United States and in foreign countries." Included is a single-sided, one-page flyer for the "1976 Disneyland Ambassador Selection."
